At 2:20 pm this afternoon, a ML3.4 Hector Mines quake occurred in the Mojave desert. The epicenter was 8 miles northwest of Ludlow, or 44 miles east of Barstow. This is a very sparsely populated area, so we may or may not receive any felt reports.

Within three minutes after the ML3.4, there was a ML4.4 quake about south of the U.S./Mexico border, about 80 miles south of Ocotillo. This is too far south to show on the “Recent Earthquakes” map, but it may have been felt in southern Imperial Valley.

A very small quake (ML2.3) was felt yesterday morning Pacoima and Sylmar. The time was 3:32 am & the epicenter was located 2 miles east-northeast of Pacoima.
