At 11:48 pm last night, there was a ML3.0 quake offshore, 26 miles west of San Diego. We have received a few isolated felt reports from the greater San Diego area.

Just after 12:18 pm, there was a moderate quake located 13 miles west of Wheeler Ridge. The ML 5.1 event was reported felt from Bakersfield down through Los Angeles County and in parts of Orange County, with no reports of damage or injury. To view the SCSN Special Report, click here.

The San Diego quake’s magnitude has been revised to ML3.9 based on more in-depth analysis of the data.

Early this morning, at 4:06 am, a quake jolted awake many people in the greater San Diego area. It was a ML4.0 quake, located 3 miles east of Jamul, or about 9 miles east-southeast of El Cajon. Felt reports are coming in now, with the farthest so far being the Temecula area. The focal mechanism is strike-slip. The quake was followed 4 minutes later by a ML2.4 aftershock.
