Offshore ML4.1

There was a ML4.1 earthquake offshore, 27 miles southeast of Santa Rosa Island (one of the Channel Islands), at 5:59 am on Sunday. A few people in the South Bay & Palos Verdes area reported feeling it.

There was a small earthquake, ML2.9 offshore of Palos Verdes at 11:36 am today. The epicenter was located 12 miles south-southwest of Palos Verdes Point.

Mojave cluster

Filed under: Felt Earthquakes — duty @ 7:04 am

A small cluster of quakes occurred overnight in the eastern Mojave Desert, 6 miles east of Ludlow. There were 14 of them, the largest 2 both being ML3.1. The ML3.1’s were at 7:15 pm & 7:32 pm. This activity is about 15 miles east of the Hector Mines aftershocks zone, so they should not be considered aftershocks. So far there are no reports of the quakes being felt.

ML2.2 felt in Long Beach

Yesterday afternoon (Friday) at 4:08 pm, a small quake of ML2.2 was felt by a few people in Long Beach & Lakewood. The epicenter was located 3 miles northwest of Seal Beach.
