Another pair of Baja aftershocks occurred early Sunday morning, marking three M4+ aftershocks in two days. The first of the pair that occurred this morning, a M 4.2, was located 29 miles SE of Calexico. The second, a M4.4, was located 25 miles SE of Calexico. M4+ aftershocks are not uncommon to follow the M5.4 that occurred earlier this week, located in the same area. Robust aftershock sequences have occurred here in the past, and may be in part due to the nearby Cerro Prieto Geothermal Field. These quakes were felt throughout the southern San Diego County, and was felt as far away as Orange County.
