At 5:11 pm today, a ML4.0 earthquake was felt in the southern end of California. The epicenter was located 5 miles southwest of Ocotillo, or 30 miles west-southwest of El Centro. A few people from as far away as Escondido reported feeling it. There have been a few aftershocks so far, the largest of which was a ML3.6 at 6:25 pm. The focal mechanism is strike-slip.

Another small quake, ML3.1, occurred this morning in the Inland Empire, about 4 miles south-southwest of Yucaipa. The time was 7:44 am. The quake was reported felt by a handful of people from Loma Linda to Hemet.

A quake was felt a few people this afternoon in the Salton Sea area and Borrego Springs. It occurred at 3:18 pm & had a magnitude of ML3.6. It was located about 6 miles east-northest of Ocotillo Wells, or 10 miles south-southwest of Salton City.

At 9:29 this morning, there was a small quake (ML3.6) 7 miles east of Desert Hot Springs. The event was reported felt in the Palm Springs area.
