There was a M4.0 earthquake at 2:09AM this morning, located 6 km (10 miles) east of Coso Junction, CA. The quake was felt in Trona, Coso Junction, and the Owens Valley. This earthquake was preceded by more than 20 foreshocks, and more than 30 aftershocks, all within a five minute period. This swarm may continue, as earthquake swarms in the Coso area are very common. Sonic Boom in San Diego area
There were a series of small sonic booms in San Diego County about twenty minutes past noon today. A few people reported to a San Diego radio station that they had felt shaking. We have confirmed there was not any seismic activity in the San Diego area between 12:17 and 12:23 PM today, the reported time when people felt/heard something.
