CISN Display
To better serve the emergency response, engineering and
scientific communities, several agencies in California have
organized themselves into the California Integrated Seismic
Network (CISN). The founding members of the CISN include:
California Geological Survey, Caltech Seismological Laboratory, Berkeley Seismological Laboratory and the USGS
at Menlo Park and Pasadena. The California Governor's Office
of Emergency Services is an ex-officio participant in the CISN,
and also provides funding and leadership for the program. In
addition to the core members, several other organizations
contribute data that enhances the capabilities of the CISN.
Contributing members of the CISN include: UC Santa Barbara,
UC San Diego, University of Nevada - Reno, University of
Washington, California Department of Water Resources,
Lawrence Livermore National Lab, and Pacific Gas and
Electric.
The CISN Mission
The mission of the CISN is to operate a reliable, modern,
statewide system for earthquake monitoring, research,
archiving and distribution of information for the benefit of
public safety, emergency response and loss mitigation.
Furthermore the CISN seeks to mitigate the impact of future
earthquakes by collecting, processing and disseminating
critical earthquake information in a timely way.

CISN Display Project Objectives
Create a Tool for the 24/7 Operations Center: Emergency, Utilities and Media Organizations
Make it a portal application: Allow automated accessibility to all other related earthquake products on the
Web Design with Growth and Configurability in Mind: Adaptable to an organizations changing needs; allows for modular upgrades |
Development Partners
Development of the CISN Display is part of a cooperative project
between:
Caltech, CGS, USGS, UCB and OES. Funding for the project
comes from the OES, USGS, FEMA/OES Hazards Mitigation Grants
Program and other partners.
