DAS Integration Postdoctoral Position
We seek a postdoc to work with integrating DAS into seismic network monitoring and post real time products in the Southern California Earthquake Data Center (SCEDC) within the Seismological Laboratory at Caltech. The candidate will advance the use of DAS data by developing novel algorithms and work with developers in the SCEDC in advancing codes to production level. There are a broad range a research topics that may be explored depending on the interest of the applicant and could include real-time phase unwrapping, monitoring dv/v due to changes in ground water throughout the year, detailed geological structure analysis, utilizing cross correlation techniques with DAS, etc.
The candidate will help with gaining access to fiber optic cables and deploying DAS interrogators in the field. The position will actively participate in the Husker and Zhan research groups as well as work with the SCEDC providing many opportunities and the ability to shape the future of DAS monitoring.
Candidates should have a strong research record. Previous experience with DAS is not necessary but is preferred.
